Wrapping up
I’m uploading the videos and photos from my last weekend now. I did some cleaning up in the apartment today to get ready for packing. Also spoke to the school about getting a load of a weighing scales to sort out what to send ahead of me in the post and what to bring to the airport. I’ve found a guy who’s moving into an apartment this weekend so he’ll take the things I’m leaving behind: cutlery, kitchen paper and such. I’ve arranged with the school about returning my key for the apartment and about getting the deposit back. I’ve just about sorted out souvenirs. I’ll talk to my phone company about getting my contract cancelled on Friday or Saturday. My final exam was today. I’m making last-minute plans now to say goodbye to people. Tomorrow after school I’m going to karaoke with some guys from my class. Tomorrow night is dinner with Rui in Nagoya. The following night is dinner in Nagoya with my private lesson teacher. Saturday I’m going to meet the girl I met in Frankfurt on the way here for lunch. She just called yesterday asking if I wanted to meet up. A great way to tie the beginning of this trip to the end.

All good things must come to an end. But I realised after I got back from Japan that it’s really not that far away. Well it is from a distance point of view but actually getting there and doing something is not that hard, so there’s no reason to be overly depressed.

‘there’s no reason to be overly depressed’ ….
It’s quite sad that you think that way.

How so?

You’re telling him to not be overly depressed because he’s coming back to Ireland? I’m sick of all the insults ye seem to throw at Ireland to be frank, so if you’re that close minded keep your opinions to yourself because there’s plenty I can find wrong with Japan. Not everything in this world is about being cute and sweet.

I find plenty of things wrong with Japan. There are plenty of big problems here that we don’t have at home. I don’t believe I throw insults at Ireland. If I say it’s dirtier, the people are fatter, and the buses and trains are slower, it’s an honest opinion and not me trying to insult Ireland or my countrymen. I’ve also said that the Irish education system is better and there are lots of aspects of the Japanese thinking that I don’t like and much prefer the Irish mindset.

It’s not closed minded, it’s the truth. My opinions are formed by being open to another culture, going to that country and discovering that the people there are just plain better people.
I hate Ireland because Ireland is a dump full of scumbags, riddled with crime and corruption and I dislike the barbaric loud culture that alot of Irish people revel in. A bunch of louts would be a good description of Irish people.
Even if you hated Japanese culture, it still wins by raw numbers. i.e. murders, crimes committed, more equal wealth distribution etc…
There’s something beautiful about being able to go out with your friends at all hours of the night and not have to worry about being stabbed or assaulted or even just hollered at. It doesn’t happen in Japan because the people are morally superior to Irish people. It’s Irish people who holler at you threateningly when you go out, Irish people keeping you worried you might be mugged when you’re meant to be out having a good time.
So why do you love Ireland? Because you were born there? Not a good reason. Most of the world’s international problems are caused by people who have a blind love of the field they were born in just because they were born in it. You should only love a country if it deserves to be loved.
I also feel the same about most other western countries, so I’m not just taking it out on Ireland.
In saying all that there are things I don’t like about Japan. The government is a bunch of cowards who sit by as the country’s finances go down the drain. I’m personally embarrassed by their incompetence and corruption. I also hate how they allow American bases in Japan and how they sometimes brush their war crimes under the cover.

I love how I just didn’t read that post, Sean. I read Daniels - Daniel that comment wasn’t aimed at you. Despite your claim that you can’t stand irish women and you could only ever marry an asian girl…

I take back the ‘can’t stand’, i know you’ve never said that. But you understand what I was implying.

I know I’ve won the debate when my opponent resorts to covering her eyes and pretending the logical arguments laid out against her don’t exist. I’ve never seen someone break so fast.

Don’t take it personally Liv ^_^ You have to admit they’re pretty though.

heh, sean, you haven’t won anything. You have an awful attitude. I’m merely sick of speaking to you about it considering the stuff i get in return.
